As the daughter of an Italian father and a Filipino mother food was never a problem to come by in my household. Whether it was a simple dish of Chicken Adobo over white jasmin rice, or a three course Italian feast my stomach was always full and company around the table always held laughs and long conversation. Family meals were and still are one of the binding ties which keep us together both here in the states and overseas back in Italy. The food that comes out of our kitchens creates feelings and stirs up memories. My father most especially has influenced my cooking interest and skills. I believe it’s his blood and culinary instinct which has given me the ability to cook classic family dishes, to be able to adjust certain recipes on a whim, to know how many pinches of this and that will change a taste, and how with only having three ingredients you can still make something interesting and delicious. I like to try new things, I like to change things up and most of all I like to share my food with the people I love most. Living with my boyfriend now I’ve had the chance to do all three things, so from our kitchen to yours may you try and hopefully enjoy some recipes which have hit a mark with me and the love of my life!
